The library for building user interfaces from components. You describe what the UI should look like for a given state and React figures out the minimal DOM updates; re-renders are triggered by state changes rather than manual DOM calls. Since the 2020 rewrite it uses hooks — functions like useState and useEffect — to share logic between components without class inheritance or extra wrappers.
