React is a set of pieces you build an interface out of — a button, a menu, a whole page. You describe what a piece should look like in a given situation, and React works out which parts of the screen need to change; the page updates when the information does, not when you go and change it by hand. Since the 2020 rewrite, shared logic lives in small plain functions, so it can be used anywhere without wrapping everything in extra layers.
